USN Camp Lemonnier Die Cast Coin Applications

For Service Members & Veterans Deployed to the Horn of Africa:

A cherished symbol of service at the United States’ only permanent military base in Africa. Camp Lemonnier, located in Djibouti, has served as the primary base for U.S. operations in the Horn of Africa since 2002, originally established as a French Foreign Legion garrison. This coin honors those who served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom – Horn of Africa (OEF-HOA) and continues to support counter-terrorism, humanitarian, and demining efforts in the region.

For Navy Commands & Government Procurement Officers:

A meaningful, cost-effective recognition tool for government procurement by Camp Lemonnier command leadership, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), and naval supply centers. Ideal for deployment commemorations, reenlistment ceremonies, change of command events, and retirement awards honoring service in this strategic location. The coin is also used as a diplomatic token — as demonstrated during the Japanese Minister of Defense’s 2016 visit, where the Camp Lemonnier commanding officer’s coin was presented alongside traditional African ceremonial gifts.

For Military Collectors & Horn of Africa Memorabilia Enthusiasts:

A prized addition to any Africa Command (AFRICOM) or Horn of Africa deployment collection. Minted in a proprietary brass alloy with an antique finish and imbued with colorful, durable enamel, this coin is officially licensed by the Department of the Navy and represents authentic U.S. military heritage in one of the world’s most strategically significant locations.

For Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) Personnel:

Ideal for honoring the joint service members from all branches who serve under CJTF-HOA. The coin’s design incorporates the command’s insignia and operational symbols, representing the unified effort of U.S. and coalition forces operating from this forward operating site to maintain regional security and foster positive U.S.-African nation relations.

Custom Camp Lemonnier commemorative coin planning for meaningful programs

This Camp Lemonnier commemorative coin concept is intended for authorized units, command programs, veterans groups, contractors with approval, and event organizers. GT Gifts supports artwork development from an approved brief so the finished design can communicate a specific story instead of relying on a generic layout. Every project should begin with ownership or authorization for names, logos, seals, insignia, characters, or other protected artwork.

What can be customized

The design discussion can cover location identity, supplied unit artwork, deployment wording, and a strong front-and-back mission story. Buyers can share reference artwork, required wording, preferred visual emphasis, target presentation, quantity, destination, and deadline. Our team will use the confirmed brief to recommend an appropriate production direction without assuming unverified specifications.

Common applications

Typical programs include deployment recognition, unit gifts, rotations, farewells, reunions, and official presentations. A defined recipient group and presentation moment make it easier to choose the right message and organize the two sides of the coin.

How to prepare a useful RFQ

  • Identify the organization, event, or recognition purpose.
  • Provide artwork files and confirm permission to use protected marks.
  • List exact front and back wording, names, dates, and priority symbols.
  • Share the required quantity, delivery country, and target date.
  • Note any packaging or presentation expectations for review.

After the brief is reviewed, GT Gifts can clarify artwork needs and prepare a project-specific quotation. Approval of the final proof remains the key checkpoint before production.

Frequently asked questions

Can GT Gifts work from a sketch or reference image?

Yes. A clear sketch or reference can start the discussion, provided the buyer has permission to use any protected content. Higher-quality source files help reduce ambiguity during proofing.

Can both sides carry different information?

Yes. Many programs use one side for the primary identity and the other for a message, date, unit, event, or recipient-specific detail. The final arrangement is confirmed through the artwork proof.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Please send the intended design, quantity, destination, deadline, and any presentation requirements. These details allow the team to evaluate the request on its actual scope.

Does GT Gifts claim affiliation with the organization shown?

No. Product examples demonstrate manufacturing and design capability only. GT Gifts does not claim endorsement or affiliation, and protected marks should be used only with the rights holder’s authorization.
