Oklahoma State University Challenge Coin Description

Oklahoma State University Challenge Coin

Honor Service. Celebrate Achievement. Preserve Veteran Success Legacy.

This Oklahoma State University Challenge Coin is a premium collectible inspired by the university’s deep commitment to supporting student veterans and military-affiliated individuals. Featuring iconic American and OSU symbols — a majestic bald eagle encircled by stars and stripes and all U.S. Armed Forces branches, the O-State logo, and the core values of scholarship, instruction, and service — this coin embodies the core values of Honor, Commitment, and Education that define Oklahoma State University and its military-connected community .

The OSU Challenge Coin was first presented in January 2017 to President Burns Hargis and members of the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, recognizing their unwavering support for student veterans’ educational goals . As Rick Hansen, coordinator of Veteran Student Academic Services, stated: “We are glad to present this challenge coin to acknowledge those who truly make a difference by supporting student veterans through their transitional period on campus, and the circumstances they may encounter on their way to graduation” . This coin honors the university’s commitment to those who have served — from the veteran transitioning to academic life to the military-affiliated student achieving their graduation milestone.
